Thai yoga massage can be really beneficial during pregnancy, for both mum and baby. Pregnancy is a beautiful time of immense change and often it can be hard to find much time to just be, go inwards and give our love and presence to our baby. We can communicate through our awareness, breath and bodily presence. Thai pregnancy massage can create a wonderful space and opportunity for this time.
Pregnancy is hailed as a time when we bloom and feel we ‘should’ be only excited, however I found it a time of all emotions and believe this is natural process and part of the preparation for this huge life change, if we can allow it. The massage can really aid relaxation at times of anxiety and stress.
On a physical level, it is also an excellent way to relieve general ailments including:
- Insomnia – most clients report a great night sleep after a treatment!
- Stiff back, shoulders or hips
- Muscle cramps
- Leg tension
- Plus, the increase in blood and lymph circulation can reduce swelling.
Pregnancy massage differs from other treatments. The massage is performed with you lying entirely on your side, in loose comfortable clothing. Lots of cushions are used for your comfort and support, creating a peaceful and nurturing space.
Thai pregnancy massage costs and times (allow an extra 30 minutes)
- 90 minutes – £55
- 120 minutes – £65
“I’ve been lucky enough to have a pregnancy massage twice with Kent Thai Massage. My first was at 5 months and it really helped with all the aches and pains that were starting to become apparent, particularly a bad back, which has so far resisted all other treatment! I had my last massage when literally ready to drop and found it really relaxed me at what can be a pretty nerve-racking time. Both times, baby seemed to enjoy himself too so was great for the pair of us!”
